Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Loopin looks after your personal information when you join our waitlist at joinloopin.co.uk, and the rights you have over your information. We've written it in plain English on purpose. If anything isn't clear, email us at joinloopin@gmail.com and we'll explain.

Who we are

Loopin is an early, pre-launch project building a platform for community savings circles. For the purposes of UK data protection law, the people responsible for your information are the team behind Loopin ('we', 'us', 'the Loopin team').

What information we collect

When you join our waitlist, we collect only what you give us on the sign-up form:

• Your first name
• Your email address

We also automatically record the date and time you signed up, and if you arrived through a tagged link, a source label telling us which of our channels sent you (for example, a specific community event or social post). We do not collect your surname, address, phone number, date of birth, or any financial or payment information at this stage.

Why we use it, and our lawful basis

We use your information to:

• Let you know when Loopin launches and invite you to set up or join your first circle.
• Occasional update you on our progress before launch.
• Understand demand across different communities and locations, so we can decide where to launch first.

Our lawful basis for contacting you is your consent you gave us your details specifically to be kept informed about Loopin. You can withdraw that consent at any time (see "Your rights" below), and every email we send will include an unsubscribe link.

We will not use your information for unrelated purposes, and we will never sell your data to anyone.

Cookies and Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how people use our site. This sets cookies on your device. When you first visit, we ask for your consent before any non-essential cookies are set, and you can change your choice at any time.

Who we share it with

We don't sell or rent your information. We share it only with the trusted service providers who help us run the waitlist, and only so they can perform that service for us:

• Supabase, the database service that securely stores your waitlist entry.
• Google Analytics as described above.

Each of these acts as our "data processor," meaning they can only use your information on our instructions.

Where your information is stored

Your information is stored securely by Supabase on servers in the European Union (Ireland). Because the UK recognizes the EU as providing an equivalent standard of data protection, your information stays properly protected.

How long we keep it

We keep your waitlist information until the earliest of:

• You ask us to delete it; or
• 12 months after we launch (or after we decide not to proceed), after which we securely delete it.

If you become a Loopin customer at launch, your information will then be governed by our full customer privacy policy, which we'll provide at that time.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct anything that's inaccurate.
• Delete your information ('right to erasure').
• Object to or restrict how we use it.
• Withdraw consent at any time, including by clicking unsubscribe in any email.
• Data portability, receive your information in a portable format.

To exercise any of these, email us at joinloopin@gmail.com. We'll respond within one month.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to put things right first, so please contact us before you do.

Changes to this policy

As Loopin grows, we may update this policy. If we make significant changes, we'll let waitlist members know by email. The date at the top shows when it was last updated.
